Description: This demonstration visually shows a transverse pulse or transverse waves.

Demonstration:

1. Connect the rope to either side of the classroom at the available anchors
2. Pluck the string at one end to show a single impulse travel
3. Move one end up and down to show waves travel on the rope

Note: The pulses in the spring may propagate too quick for students to see. The string is recommended.
