6A42.10-Blackboard optics – refraction

Description: Using the plastic cubes in the blackboard optics set, you can show how light refracts
off objects with different indexes of refraction.

Equipment:

1. BlackBoard Optics Kit
2. Laser

Demonstration Procedure:

1. Show how the laser travels straight in air
2. Place a cube in front of the laser and note how the light bends as it enters and exits the cube
3. Combine two different cubes and show how the angle of refraction changes
